Chronic medication DSP for 2007

We have always believed that the delivery of comprehensive and customer-orientated healthcare benefits that are strategically aligned to chronic disease medication is essential - what better method to achieve this than to appoint a courier dispensary as the designated service provider for your chronic medication requirements during 2007?

It is with great pleasure that GEMS announces Medipost Pharmacy as its companion in the provision of personalised and professional chronic medication delivery to you, our valued member. Medipost have been a loyal partner to many medical schemes and have supplied their members with an invaluable service in providing their chronic medication on a monthly basis.

So, as we strive toward the maintenance of quality healthcare and service excellence, let us jointly embrace this new endeavour as a mutually rewarding and exciting GEMS experience.

How do I acquire my chronic medication in 2007 if I am already registered for chronic medication?

  • Forward your doctor's prescription for the medication detailed on your most recent chronic medication access card to 086 651 8009. Remember to state your GEMS membership number, all your contact telephone numbers, main member details and patient details.
  • A pharmacist will contact you and arrange a suitable date and place where you would prefer your medication to be delivered. Your medication will be timeously sent to you every 28 days, or as per your requested requirements per month.

How do I acquire my chronic medication in 2007 if I am a newly diagnosed chronic user?

  • Fax a completed GEMS chronic application form to 086 651 8009 together with a repeatable prescription;
  • Upon receipt of the information above and confirmation that your chronic authorisation was successful, a pharmacist will contact you to make arrangements for your first and subsequent deliveries. All your special requirements will be discussed and a detailed explanation of the process will also be included.

What if I do not make use of the Designated Service Provider (DSP)?

Chronic medication obtained from another service provider, including your doctor or another pharmacy, will incur a 30% up-front co-payment to your chosen doctor or pharmacy.
